Home/ASI Convention 2007
North Jamaica Mission ASI holds its Second Annual Convention
The second Annual Convention of the North Jamaica Mission ASI Chapter was held on Sabbath, April 21, 2007 at the spacious Seventh-day Adventist Church in Falmouth, Trelawny. Over 400 persons were present for the occasion.
Guest Speaker for the day was Dr. Patrick L. Allen, President and ASI Coordinator of West Indies Union. He spoke on the theme for the Convention: "Propelled by the Word - Advancing to New Heights." He strongly emphasized the need for church members to go back to the Bible, because many do not know or understand the fundamental doctrines. Therefore, every congregation should conduct regular Bible Class.
Other presenters for the day were:
Evangelist Livingston Burgess who reviewed the Sabbath School Lesson.
Elder Marston Thomas, ASI Vice President of Inter-American Division (IAD) who gave the closing charge.
The main feature for the day was the election of Officers and a Board of Directors for the next two years. With two-thirds of the regular ASI members present, the Mission President, Pastor Michael H. Harvey presided at a meeting of the registered delegates in the afternoon and, according to the Constitution, elected seven Officers and eleven Board Members whom he duly installed during the closing session of the day's activities.
