NJM Surpasses Baptismal Goal for 2008
The North Jamaica Mission of Seventh-day Adventists has exceeded its baptismal goal for 2008. The Mission has a total baptismal figure of 1,181, fifty-siX (56) more than the target of 1,125.
"We can only give all the praise and thanks to God," said Pastor Michael Harvey, President of North Jamaica Mission. "He has been blessing our Mission on so many ways. Not only are we seeing an influx of new believers from the Pentecost and More programme since the start of the year, but we have witnessed tremendous improvements in other areas in the Mission.
Something great is happening in the North, and we are eternally grateful to God for the work of the pastors and lay workers who are steadfast in soul-winning, and also for those who are accepting the message of truth."
Seven (7) pastors are centurions for 2008. However, District Number 1, the St. Ann's Bay District, with Pastor Michael Harvey at the helm, hit the centurion mark at the close of the second quarter. He has a total figure of 148 persons.
The other six (6) pastors who have surpassed their goals are as follows:
- Pastor Wellesley Gunter from the Reid's Friendship District with 122 persons;
- Pastor Dudley Hosin from the Ocho Rios District with 124 persons;
- Pastor Garth Geddes from the Stettin District with 108 persons;
- Pastor Nathanael Gracia from the Duncans District with 101 persons;
- Pastor Gary Fletcher from the Salem District with 101 persons;
- Pastor Carlington Hylton from the Spring Gardens District with 100 persons;
We pray that the Lord will continue to set the Holy Spirit fire in our hearts so that more souls will be garnered in His kingdom.
