Twelve Colporteurs Recruited From First Publishing Convention

Twelve Colporteurs were recruited for active service at the North Jamaica Mission Publishing Convention held on Sabbath, April 21, 2007 at the Brown's Town Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Ann, Jamaica.

Under the theme, "Propelled To Tell" Pastor Alanzo Whyte, Publishing Ministries Director of North Jamaica Mission lead a well organized and spirit-filled programme. Sister Millicent Witter, Sabbath School Superintendent captivated the attention of the congregation and motivated them to become involved in the Colporteur ministry.

With such a tone, the day's programme steadily progressed with the Colporteurs actively participating in every aspect of the programme. This included a special Colporteurs choir which drew the attention of many as they brought glory to God through their singing.

Former Publishing Director, Pastor Dudley Hosin was the Divine Hour speaker. In his spirited message he reminded the congregation that each of us has a work to do and that we should ask God to give us the power to carry this work through. His appeal at the end of his message led to a recruit of two (2) full-time and ten (10) part-time colporteurs.

The afternoon's programme included a Colporteurs Symposium where colporteurs shared their personal experiences and remarkable accounts of God's goodness and mighty acts. Pastor Alanzo Whyte then gave a powerpoint presentation outlining the plans and objectives of the Publishing Ministry. He also spoke on canvassing and Literature Evangelism.

As the Sabbath drew to a close, two (2) precious souls were baptized. After a well-spent Sabbath, the Colporteurs had a Book Expo on the church grounds.
