NJM President Cops Top Award
President of North Jamaica Mission, Pastor Michael Hugh Harvey copped the top awards as the Evangelist and Pastor of the Year for 2008 at a special award ceremony held in the North Jamaica Mission Board room on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.

“I must say a big thank you for your support,” expressed Harvey who was quite calm yet elated, “I could not have achieved this without your help and from the help of Almighty God.”

Pastor Harvey was selected as District Pastor of the Year based on these outlined criteria for each pastor: a 20% increase in tithe and offering; Timeliness of Remittances; Evangelism; Ingathering goals achieved; General Deportment; Response to Meetings called by the Mission; Church Administration and Priorities distributed (church magazine).
He also excelled as the top Evangelist with 148 persons being baptized in St. Ann’s Bay District of churches. This is the highest number of baptism by a single district in North Jamaica Mission for the year 2008.
Four other Centurions were awarded for Outstanding Evangelistic efforts, they are: Pastors Dudlely Hosin, Gary Buddoo-Fletcher, Nathanael Gracia, and Garth Geddes. Evangelist Kooran Haystings, the Mission’s Bible worker was also awarded for Evangelism; he preached in campaigns that have seen over 100 persons being baptized.
President Harvey expressed his appreciation to Pastor Omar Oliphant who interned at the St. Ann’s Bay District for approximately two years and Pastor Obrian Forbes, whose services began in September 2008.
“Without these two gentlemen,” Pastor Harvey commented, “I could not have achieved all this and I thank them whole heartedly”. Commendations were also given to the members in the St. Ann’s Bay District for their collaborative efforts, hard work and prayer.

Along with the responsibilities of being a president, Pastor Michael Harvey took up the responsibility as the district pastor of the St. Ann’s Bay Circuit of Churches August 1, 2007. He also serves as the Communication, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Director; Membership Conservation; and Board Chairman of the St. Ann’s Bay High and Preparatory School.
